We are thrilled to announce Kazakhstan as the 70th country where The Prayer Covenant is being used among children and youth. We praise God for the amazing King’s Kids International (KKI) leaders, Yura and Margo Kim. After receiving the Prayer Covenant for Children training from the KKI leader for NE and SE Asia, Tim Gillette, they began teaching the children within their ministry the ten unshakeable Prayer Covenant truths – grace, love, compassion, repentance, worship, commitment, dependence, influence, discipleship and authority.
The Prayer Covenant in Kazakhstan
Margo and her husband serve together in Almaty, Kazakhstan and the surrounding villages. They lead a teenage fellowship group where each year they gather a team of kids, study the Bible with them and encourage them to reach out to the world. These kids served as trainers during the camp. There were 7 trainers and 22 kids that ranged in age from two to 15 years old. It took only two weeks to prepare the camp as the volunteers prepared everything themselves.
They broke up into groups of two and asked God which topics from the Prayer Covenant they wanted to teach and then prepared the lessons. The trainers were ages 11 to 16, but even the younger ones, who had not led a lesson before were able to do so! They loved the Bible experiential games as well as the “talk-it” and “do-it” (action steps) sections as it helped reinforce what they had learned.
The Power of the Prayer Covenant book helped them stay on track providing plenty of activities to engage the children. Whether games, coloring pages, or worship time, all the activities tied into each theme, making it very easy to teach.
Margo shared, “It was a great experience and to be honest, we have never seen our kids so engaged in preparing Bible lessons. Usually this task goes to a few kids who initiate every activity, but this time, every trainer was involved! The Prayer Covenant has really helped us. Thank you for making it possible.”
Prayer
Let us pray, Dear Father, we thank you that you are raising up a generation of young people who love God and love people. Empower them by your Holy Spirit. Strengthen them, encourage them, bless them, use them mightily for your glory. We ask that Kazakhstan be a nation whose God is the Lord. We ask that these children will continue to be salt and light, a city on a hill that will shine brightly for your Kingdom. Protect and keep each one in the palm of your hand. We ask these things in your precious name, Amen.
